The session will include an overview of Cyber Crime/ Cyber Threats, Data Breach/ Identity Theft Statistics, Data Privacy Regulations, and Information Security Risk Management Practices.

Presenter:  John DeMauro, Regional Director, Sage Data Security, Inc.

 Over a 22-year career John has developed a very broad technical and business background. Prior to Sage Data Security he spent several years as a principal at Carlin, Charon, and Rosen (CCR) where he managed the firm’s Information Security, Assurance, and Risk Management Practice. In 1991, he founded Systems Integration Group (SIG), which he ran as managing partner until he sold the company in early 2000. During his tenure at SIG John focused on technology consulting, customer support, service delivery, and information systems security. He also held a position as Chief Technical Officer at Cyphermint Corporation, a company that developed an Internet based on-line payment system. While there he was responsible for all IT support activity in Eastern Europe and the United States as well as the development and implementation of all information system security elements.

His current professional focus is on delivering information security, assurance, and risk management consulting services to a wide variety of businesses. This includes the management and performance of IT audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, risk assessments and policy and procedure reviews.  He also acts in the capacity of information security officer for several New England Region community banks. He has extensive knowledge of pertinent regulatory standards such as: FFIEC, GLBA, HIPAA, and PCI.

John attended Central New England College and majored in Information Systems Management. He currently holds the following information security related certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He is an active member of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) and CSI (Computer Security Institute).

 From the North and East of Worcester… Take I-290W into Worcester and take Exit 18.  Turn right onto Lincoln St.  Take your next right onto Concord St. and stay straight through one set of lights.  The street becomes Salisbury St for two more sets of lights.  At the second set of lights turn left onto Lancaster St and then right into the church parking lot.

 From the South and West of Worcester  Take I-290E into Worcester and take Exit 17.  Turn left at the end of the ramp.  Proceed west on Belmont down the hill toward Lincoln Sq.  Bear right onto Lincoln St.  Move to the left lane and bear left onto Concord St. and then stay straight through one set of lights.  The street becomes Salisbury St for two more sets of lights.  At the second set of lights turn left onto Lancaster St and then right into the church parking lot.
